Debi Walker

Hi My name is Debi Walker and I have been the Parent Participation Worker here at Bury Parents Forum for approximately two and a half years now.

The role of Parent Participation Worker has been really challenging and varied and I have enjoyed working with the families in Bury immensely. No two days are the same and this makes our work rewarding and interesting, as well as keeping us on our toes !! As a forum we have undertaken lots of varied and interesting work to date, but I have to say the most recent exciting challenge for us is the Personalisation Pilot for children in Bury.

I have reduced my role as Participation Worker and I work alongside the families on the Personalisation Pilot. As I am passionate about personalisation and people being in control of their lives this is proving to be one of my most rewarding roles to date. Raising peoples expectations is what drives me and being a trained Person Centred Planner is crucial. I am also a trained Graphic Recorder/Facilitator and I find this a very enjoyable part of my role too !
