Hi from Netbuddy,

Big thanks to all of you who have been sending in your tips. You will be able to see them live on the website in just a few short weeks... but in the meantime we’d like to say congratulations to Sarah Hall, who is our latest Tipster of the Month!

Sarah is an independent sensory therapist, and she sent us several fantastic tips. The one we particularly liked was....

Go out for a smell tour, make a route which goes past places like a fishmongers, fish and chip shop, the Body Shop/Lush soap shop, pet shop, bakery etc

Congratulations Sarah, a £25 M&S voucher is on its way to you now!

Here are some of the other great tips we’ve received:

Huggies pull-up nights are better than nappies for older children. The girls' version is more absorbent than the boys’. If you are toilet training, try and start the process in April so you are doing it through the warmer months.
- Naomi Collett

For someone with Aspergers, learning social communication rules is like learning a foreign language. They will get it, it's not impossible for them to learn, but it has to come from an external source and you have to teach them.
- Priscilla Watkins

If someone has trouble putting their socks on, using a good fabric conditioner makes the socks much stretchier and more flexible so far easier to put on.
- Becky John

If you are trying to manage challenging behaviour in a non-verbal child try to get them to understand the notion of ‘first we do this (eg: get dressed) second we do that (go on the bus) – holding up your fingers to support the language. This took Jack a few months to grasp, but when he did it was very helpful because I could reassure him that his chosen activity was coming up and he learned to wait.
- Naomi Collett

Many thanks again to all our fantastic tipsters. Don’t forget to keep your ideas coming in for your chance to be entered in next month’s draw!

Best wishes,
Emma
