Oaasis - For Parents of a child with Autism/Aspergers Syndrome & other Learning Difficulties
Oaasis are a resource for parents and professionals caring for children with Autism/Asperger syndrome and other learning difficulties.
Oaasis is part of The Cambian Group (one of the largest providers of independant residential special schools and colleges in the U.K).
They were established in 1996 and aim to provide parents and teachers with impartial answers to the many questions that teaching or looking after a child with SEN may present.
They provide answers based on research, attending seminars and workshops, experience and access to the Specialist Education Team at Cambian. All queries are dealt with confidentially.
Oaasis have a number of free publications that can be downloaded from their website on topics such as statementing, how to find the right school, learning difficulties, anxiety, driving and much more!
They also operate a helpline for anybody seeking further information on Special Educational Needs and other learning difficulties.
On Wednesdays the helpline is now open until 8pm (term time) for ASD specific enquiries.
