WATS – We’re All The Same

Tackling the stigma of having a learning disability among young people

The Coventry based charity, Grapevine, has been working on a project to promote inclusive and cohesive relationships between young people with - and without - learning disabilities.

The findings of the project show that by working together, young people with and without learning disabilities can overcome their prejudices and fears, and actually foster inclusive and lasting friendships.

The project has produced a number of materials:

  • A magazine for young people features the story of the project in words and pictures as a way to inspire others.
  • Top tips to tackle negative attitudes for professionals working with children and young people.
  • An in-depth report about the project.

You can also watch media produced by the project on the WATS! Youtube channel.
